Which Cell Organelle?

If I had to choose, I would like to be a ribosome. They work extremely hard and I would like to say that I work hard in what I do. Ribosomes are the protein producers and the cell would die without them. Ribosomes are just basically awesome and allow us to live. I know a lot of people think the nucleus is the most important part of a cell but I disagree. Ribosomes are way more importnant, and in my opinion, the most important part of a cell.

Lab Reflection

Well, we had our first lab this week. It wasn't too hard because we did titrations in chemistry. Had I not been in chemistry, I probably would have been freaking out. I thought it was a good way to teach us about enzymes, rather than reading from the book or a powerpoint. We had a lot of error in our experiment and I feel like we hardly got the results we wanted. One theory was that the catalyse had too strong of a concentration so that could have resulted in error. I feel like it was espically wrong because all of our experiments except for the baseline, only required one drop. Nevertheless, I still learned a lot from this experiment and thought it was better than learning from a powerpoint.

The parts I am looking forward to the most include studying animals and genetics. I really enjoy learning about animals and actually was a intern at John Ball Zoo this past semester. I learned a lot from this semester and I hope to learn a lot more. I am also interested in genetics. Genetics are very fascinating to me and I hope to learn a lot more about genetics too. I am not looking forward doing chemistry because it was hard to learn the first time and retaining the chemistry is going to be super hard. Chemistry sucks.

Hello, my name is Adam Ronning. I am a senior at Sparta High School. I have lived in Sparta all of my life. Some of my hobbies / interests include tennis, band, and drama. I am on the Varsity Tennis team and a part of the Marching Band, Jazz Band, and Wind Ensemble. One of my biggest accomplishments is when I made the All-State Band this year. I beat out 86 trombones from around the state to make it in the amazing band. We performed at the Devos Place last weekend and it was pretty much amazing.

My career aspirations have definitely changed in the past year. Throughout high school I have wanted to be a marine biologist and actually was an intern at the John Ball Zoo working in the aquarium. After the internship I realized I did not want to be a zookeeper. Now, my career dream is to be a band teacher. I am planning on going to Central Michigan University to major in Music Education.

I am taking this course for many reasons. Even though I have kind of backed away from a career in biology, I still enjoy learning about it. I would like to get college credit for this class but mostly, I just really want a better and in depth knowledge of biology.
